Dear friends of cherished Michaele,
We would like to thank all of you for the many emails which have literally poured into our office from around the world. The wonderful and personal comments you have sent speak volumes about the positive impact that Michaele has had on all of our lives. Additionally, as Michaele would say, the fact that you responded to her tragic death so quickly, so thoughtfully, with such tender recollections is because, as a group, you are exceedingly wonderful people. Think about that as you ponder your loss – she included you in her life because you are all extraordinary people. Michaele cherished each and every one of you as you did her.

Dr. G. William Arnett graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles and began his private practice in 1975. At that time he practiced the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery in Santa Barbara, California with an emphasis on orthognathic surgery. In 1985 Dr. Arnett made the decision to specialize in Orthognathic Surgery and Research and the practice was named “The Center for Corrective Jaw Surgery.”
In 2003 The Center for Corrective Jaw Surgery was fortunate to add a talented second surgeon; Dr. Michael J. Gunson. Dr. Gunson graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine in 2001, and completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialty Training at the University of California at Los Angeles in 2003. At that time he decided to limit his practice to orthogathic surgery and sleep apnea.
Specializing in Orthognathic Surgery and Research has enabled the doctors to examine approximately 10,000 patients, and perform over 4,000 operations on patients with the same or similar cosmetic and functional conditions. As a result, they have been able to study and enhance their results while sharing the information with other doctors through publications and lectures.

Visiting Doctor Application allows interested oral surgeons, orthodontists and general dentists, individually or as a team, to observe the doctors during office and hospital procedures.
Annual Orthodontics and Orthognathic Surgery Course is an educational seminar presented by the doctors. This course has been given annually every October for 15 years and is highly rated by attendees for improving patient treatment planning and care in their individual practices.
The Arnett Multidisciplinary Foundation Meeting consists of surgeons, orthodontists, and general dentists who meet in Santa Barbara every January for continuing education. Speakers for this meeting are selected based upon their outstanding knowledge in one or more areas of surgery, orthodontics, or general dentistry.
Surgical Video Checkout is complete footage of surgical techniques utilized by Drs. Arnett and Gunson. The footage is divided into easy to grasp segments such as plating of the mandible, seating of the condyles, bone grafting, bone graft harvest, etc.
